feliz ano nuevo : despite being lied to, spied on, rifled through, smirked at, taken advantage of, rail-roaded, flooded out, swept away, stolen from and had my basic right-to-privacy raped and pillaged, i'm still cautiously (yet optimistically and idealistically) realistic about our chances of having a better '06. that said, it's been a rough one, but one that nevertheless yielded a diamond. suburban hymns, among many others.

and much of it came from people i know and/or had sex with. my homies from the likes of riddle to steel, the traindodger, dropsonica, and rome '79 have been responsible for some great ones this year. not to mention fellow KC grads doris henson, the golden republic, the string and return, veda, and the minus story(well they're from lawrence, but a great record nonetheless). and as common denominator, i must admit that i think i'm really the one to credit for all these amazing records. what other reason could there be? i'm the link, broseph.

on the docket : quick early march tour over to baltimore to finish the japanese EP for stiff slack records. after that, a tour to the west coast that will include shows with the jade shader (no knife/boilermaker) and traindodge. following that, we'll hit the road for most of may with pelican and mono. we're pumped.

reward for lost cell phone : someone stole old trusty the other day when i went into the thriftway at 40th and main for bananas and sliced cheese, and it wasn't until the next morning the i realized the shits was gone. this cell phone was my confidant, in whose ear i could whisper anything, and have since 2001. it had the old old old school ring and was roughly the size of a brick.

when i finally did get a new phone, i got calls from some thugged out individuals for a few days. plus i'll bet all his homies were laughing at him and his huge ancient cell phone on the side of his head. it's my little revenge.
